Trish
Gohl, Founder
of No Dog Gets Left Behind, at annual charity event.
It
was a simple act really. After the death of my much-loved dog Ralphie in
October 2009, I began looking for a way to honor his memory. In my online
search, I came across the Military Channel’s No Dog Left Behind documentary
about the efforts to reunite military personnel with animals they found and
bonded with while at war. During the hour-long program, I realized the deep
bonds that are formed between wartime soldiers and their battle
buddies.
“…the
power of human-animal bond to comfort, heal, and inspire the best in people in
the worst situations; to find their humanity in the midst of dehumanizing
conditions.” – Military Channel.
No Dog Gets Left Behind is a 501(c)(3) non profit charitable organization dedicated to
providing financial support to reunite active military with the stray dogs they bond with while at war. These important animals not only help our heroes in
the war zone, but they also help them readjust to life back home after combat.
In 2016, recognizing the role animals play in healing, relieving stress, and bringing love into the lives of our heroes, we again expanded the No Dog mission and service to our military and companion animals. In addition to making re-unions possible, we are now facilitating new unions. We are partnering with three area PSPCAs to cover the adoption fee for qualified active military and veterans who give a forever home to a shelter pet.
Your
donation or purchase of a No Dog Gets Left Behind T-Shirt will go a long
way in helping us succeed in this endeavor.
Thank you for your support!
